My house in Bangalore does not have a South-facing roof. My roof slopes only to the East and West. Can I still install solar, and how much generation will I lose?

Yes, you can absolutely install panels facing East and West. In India, True South is the optimal direction (100% generation). An East or West-facing system will still generate about 85% to 90% of what a South-facing system would generate. A good strategy is to split your panels: 50% facing East (catches morning sun) and 50% facing West (catches afternoon sun). This provides a very steady power curve throughout the day.
