Accelerating India's transition to clean energy through properly modelled financial data — free, unbiased, and always up to date.
At SolarCalculators.in, we believe that the transition to solar energy is not just an environmental necessity — it is one of the most financially sound decisions an Indian homeowner or business can make in 2026. However, the solar market in India is often opaque. Quotes vary wildly between installers. Subsidy rules change with each budget. Electricity tariffs differ from state to state and DISCOM to DISCOM.
Our mission is to democratise access to accurate solar financial analysis. We want every Indian — whether in a Mumbai apartment, a Rajasthan farmhouse, or a Coimbatore factory — to be able to calculate, down to the rupee, exactly how much they can save by switching to solar. No sales pressure. No hidden commissions. Just numbers.
SolarCalculators.in was founded in 2024 by a group of engineers and data analysts based in Navi Mumbai who had personally experienced the confusion of going solar. After receiving wildly conflicting quotes and struggling to verify subsidy eligibility, we decided to build the tool we wished had existed.
Today our team includes renewable energy engineers, full-stack developers, and a research team that tracks MNRE circulars, DISCOM tariff orders, and PM Surya Ghar Yojana updates daily. We are not affiliated with any solar manufacturer, installer, or financier. We do not sell solar panels. We do not sell batteries. We sell clarity.
Our platform has helped over 14,000 Indian homeowners and businesses estimate their solar savings and connect with verified installers for free quotes.
Our suite of free calculators covers every stage of the solar decision-making journey:
Every calculator on this platform is built on verified, publicly available data. Here is what powers our models:
All calculations are estimates. Actual results will vary based on roof orientation, shading, local weather, equipment quality, and grid tariff changes. We always recommend obtaining 2–3 quotes from MNRE-empaneled installers before making any purchase decision.
SolarCalculators.in is editorially independent. Our calculator results are never influenced by advertiser relationships or installer partnerships. When you see a cost estimate or subsidy figure on our platform, it is based solely on publicly available data and our own modelling — not on what any vendor wants you to see.
We do run advertisements and a verified installer marketplace, but these are kept completely separate from our calculation engine. A vendor paying for a premium listing on our marketplace does not influence where they appear in quote requests or how their products are represented in our tools.
The solar landscape changes rapidly. Government policies like the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana change the financial dynamics overnight. Electricity tariff hikes by DISCOMs alter payback periods. Panel prices have dropped over 60% in five years. We pride ourselves on keeping our data current:
We make the following commitments to every visitor of SolarCalculators.in:
India has set an ambitious target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. Rooftop solar is a crucial piece of that puzzle — and with PM Surya Ghar subsidies making it more accessible than ever, 2026 is the best time to go solar.
By using our tools, you are taking the first informed step towards energy independence and lower electricity bills. Thank you for trusting us with your solar journey.
