ev charging night net metering tata nexon
I am planning to buy a Tata Nexon EV. I am out for work during the day, so I can only charge the car at night. If I install a 5kW On-Grid solar system, will it help charge my EV for free?

Yes, indirectly! With an On-Grid system and Net Metering, the solar power generated during the day is pushed into the grid, earning you 'credits'. When you plug in your EV at night, you consume electricity from the grid, which uses up the credits you earned during the day. So, financially, your solar panels are paying for your EV charging, even though the physical electrons are coming from the grid.
