New Subsidy Structure (2025-26)

The subsidy is now calculated based on the capacity of the solar plant you install. Here is the latest breakdown:

System Capacity Subsidy Amount
Up to 1 kW ₹30,000
Up to 2 kW ₹60,000
3 kW and above ₹78,000 (Fixed)

Note that for systems larger than 3 kW (e.g., 5 kW or 10 kW), the maximum subsidy is capped at ₹78,000.

How to Apply?

The application process is fully digital via the National Portal for Rooftop Solar (pmsuryaghar.gov.in).

  1. Register on the portal with your Electricity Consumer Number.
  2. Apply for Rooftop Solar.
  3. Wait for technical feasibility approval from your DISCOM.
  4. Get it installed by a Registered Vendor.
  5. Submit plant details and apply for net metering.
  6. Subsidy is credited directly to your bank account within 30 days of commissioning.
