DGVCL Solar Net Metering — Export Rate
Under net metering, DGVCL consumers with rooftop solar systems can export surplus electricity to the grid and receive credit at the applicable tariff rate. The solar export price for DGVCL is approximately ₹2.25/unit (indicative; set by GERC — varies by agreement type), as per the latest order from the state electricity regulatory commission.
Net metering settlement in Gujarat (South) is done monthly — excess export units are credited at the export rate, and any net import is billed at the prevailing import tariff. Annual settlement of any remaining export credit varies by DISCOM policy.
How Solar Saves Money Under DGVCL Tariffs
For a household consuming 300–400 units per month in DGVCL area, a 3 kW solar system can offset 300–360 units per month (25 kWh/day average). At current DGVCL tariffs, this typically saves ₹1,500–₹3,500/month on the electricity bill, depending on consumption pattern and time of generation.
